Alexander Pushkin was known for his numerous love affairs and romantic relationships throughout his life. Some of the women he loved or was romantically involved with include.
- Anna Kern: Pushkin’s first love was Anna Kern, who he met in Moscow in 1817. Anna was a married woman, and their relationship was forbidden by society. Pushkin’s love for Anna inspired many of his early poems, including “I Loved You” and “To Anna Kern.”
- Natalia Goncharova: Pushkin’s most famous and enduring love affair was with Natalia Goncharova, whom he met in 1828. Natalia was a married woman, and their relationship was once again forbidden by society. Pushkin’s love for Natalia inspired some of his most famous works, including the epic novel in verse, “Eugene Onegin.” Pushkin and Natalia eventually married in 1831, but their happiness was short-lived as Pushkin was killed in a duel in 1837.
- Ekaterina Lanskaya: Pushkin had a brief affair with Ekaterina Lanskaya in 1833, while he was still married to Natalia Goncharova. The affair caused a scandal, and Natalia demanded a separation from Pushkin, which he reluctantly agreed to.
- Olga Kalashnikova: Pushkin was engaged to Olga Kalashnikova in the early 1820s, but the engagement was eventually broken off due to their cultural and social differences.
