There are several known portraits of Alexander Pushkin, and they provide some insight into what he looked like.
Pushkin was of mixed ancestry, with both African and European heritage. He had a dark complexion, curly black hair, and expressive brown eyes. He was of average height for his time, standing around 5’8″ (173 cm), and had a slender build.
In his youth, Pushkin was known for his good looks and charm, and he was considered a ladies’ man. However, as he grew older, his features became more weathered and his complexion became darker due to a life of heavy drinking and smoking.
Despite the physical changes he underwent over the course of his life, Pushkin remained a striking and charismatic figure until his untimely death at the age of 37. His legacy as one of Russia’s greatest writers and cultural icons continues to be celebrated to this day.
